Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-15

Starter template — pending legal review. This Privacy Policy is a good-faith starting draft for BizRadar. It has not yet been reviewed by an attorney. Bracketed items like BizRadar are placeholders the operator must complete before this policy is published or relied upon.

1. Who we are

BizRadar (“BizRadar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a service operated by BizRadar. BizRadar sends subscribers a daily email digest of businesses that have recently registered with state business-registration authorities, filtered to the geographic areas (counties or “turf”) each subscriber chooses.

This policy explains what personal information we collect from subscribers (the people who sign up for and pay for BizRadar), how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the BizRadar email service.

2. What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Specifically:

  • Subscriber email address — the email you enter at signup, which is where we deliver your daily digest.
  • Your chosen counties / turf — the geographic areas (and any business-type filters) you select so we can match new registrations to your market.
  • Billing details — if you start a paid subscription, our payment processor collects and stores your payment information. We do not store full card numbers ourselves; we receive only limited information (such as a customer or subscription identifier and billing status) needed to manage your account.
  • Basic request logs — like most websites, our server keeps short-lived technical logs of requests (for example IP address, timestamp, and the page or API endpoint requested). These are used for security, abuse prevention (rate limiting), and debugging.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal information. Please do not send it to us.

3. How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • Build and send your daily new-business digest to the email you provided, matched to the turf you selected.
  • Operate billing for paid subscriptions (through our payment processor) and send essential account or transactional messages.
  • Keep the service secure and working — for example, rate limiting signups and diagnosing errors using request logs.
  • Respond to you when you contact us.

We do not sell your subscriber information, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

4. Where the lead data comes from

The business leads in your digest are compiled from publicly available state business-registration records — the filings that businesses are legally required to make when they register with a state. That underlying public record data is created and published by the relevant state authorities, not by BizRadar. We are a tool that collects, organizes, and delivers that public information; we are not the source of it, and we do not control its accuracy or completeness.

If you are a business owner who appears in a state registration record and you have questions about that record itself, those questions are generally directed to the state authority that publishes it. You may still contact us about how BizRadar handles data (see Contact).

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers we need to operate BizRadar, and only for that purpose. These may include:

  • An email-delivery provider — to actually send your daily digest emails.
  • A payment processor — to handle subscription billing. They process your payment details under their own privacy terms.
  • Google and Yelp APIs — used only when the optional Approach Report feature is generated, to look up publicly available business information and reviews. These are used to produce the report and are not sent your personal subscriber details.
  • Hosting / infrastructure providers — the servers and databases that run the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition). We do not sell personal information.

6. Cookies

BizRadar uses minimal cookies. The marketing website and signup flow are designed to work without tracking or advertising cookies. If a paid account area or payment processor sets a strictly necessary cookie (for example, to keep you signed in or to complete a secure payment), it is limited to making the service function. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

7. Data retention

We keep your subscriber information (email and turf settings) for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle billing, support, and legal obligations. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you emails; you may also ask us to delete your account data entirely (see Your rights). Short-lived request logs are retained only briefly for security and debugging. Billing records may be kept longer where required for tax or accounting purposes.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time.

How to exercise them

  • Unsubscribe: every BizRadar digest email includes a one-click unsubscribe link in its footer. Clicking it stops all further emails. You can also email us.
  • Access, correction, or deletion: email support@bizradar.us from the address on your subscription and tell us what you would like. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

9. Children

BizRadar is a business tool intended for professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including limiting what we collect, restricting access, and relying on reputable processors for payments and email delivery. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let subscribers know. Continued use of BizRadar after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact
